What is special about “Nadal“in Barcelona?

04-12-2014

If you’re student, yours aren’t with you…and feel far away from home, let yourself wrap around Barcelona, let us explain you what we do these days.

Comes “Nadal” and Barcelona is full of light and color, gifts and illusion...
Comes " Tio de nadal," a small log with smiley face wearing the traditional red catalan hat: the Barretina and supported by two front legs, which makes dream children when they see it and think on feed him every night, cover him with a blanket and for Christmas Eve will poo out a lot of treats and candies but not before beating and singing to make him poo.
We walk through Santa Llúcia, the oldest and most traditional fair in Barcelona ... not really Christmas without Santa Llúcia! We buy everything we need to decorate our home and our spirit of Christmas : cribs , trees , crafts , figures ... and of course : The caganer , that pastor hidden behind bushes to relieve themselves, so well known that is represented with the face of famous people politicians , athletes or entertainers.
We are looking forward on Christmas Day , to be together as a family , taking “Galets soup” , or Sant Esteve cannelloni , eating nougats candies, “neulas” and toasting... with cava , of course!
